The Shul by the Shore has been serving the Jewish community in Long Beach, California for 30 years. Founded by Rabbi Abba Perelmuter, the Shul has always welcomed Jews of diverse backgrounds and affiliations to come and grow together spiritually and intellectually.

As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to enhance Jewish pride, education, and connection in Long Beach and beyond. We strive to create a warm and accepting environment where individuals and families can engage with their Jewish heritage and experience personal growth.

Recently, we have found a new home that will enable us to better serve our community. Our new building provides a space for us to gather together and engage in meaningful prayer, Torah study, and educational courses. We envision this space as a hub for Jewish life in Long Beach, where people can come together to celebrate Jewish holidays, lifecycle events, and community programs.

Our vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive community where all Jews feel a sense of belonging and connection. We hope to inspire and empower individuals to take an active role in their Jewish identity and to engage with the world around them through a Jewish lens. Through our programs, services, and outreach efforts, we strive to build a vibrant Jewish community that will continue to thrive for generations to come.
